Easton Garford Endowed CE School

Learning Together Through Faith, Hope and Love

The Curriculum

At Easton Garford School we value and embrace all subjects and offer a broad and balanced curriculum in line with the expectations of the National and Early Years curriculum.

English and Maths are central to our challenging and varied curriculum. They
are taught as distinct subjects but are also central to our thematic units of
work. Our reading scheme is bespoke to our school and draws books from a range of different reading schemes to suit the needs of all our children.  The books are banded according to the Oxford Reading Tree book levels. Phonics and spelling follows the principles of the Read Write Inc. phonics and spelling scheme. Inspirational themes are used to deliver the foundation subjects such as Computing, Science, Art, Dance, Music, PE, Design Technology, History and
Geography. This creative and innovative approach to learning is key to
developing independent and innovative thinkers who embrace challenge and
think creatively. It motivates our children to succeed and promotes
consistently high standards of achievement and behaviour across the school.

As a Church School, RE is important to us and is taught in line with the
Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education in Northamptonshire.

All of our educational provision is underpinned by the whole school approach
to inclusion, equal opportunities and diversity. We embrace Social, Moral, Spiritual and Cultural values and place importance on teaching children about their own well-being and life experiences within the wider diverse culture of Britain. We teach our children to keep safe and how to adopt healthy lifestyles.

Our church ethos fosters a caring atmosphere where we celebrate and share
achievements and build empathy and respect for each other.
